Badminton’s French Open 2008, part of the Super Series tournament, started yesterday with qualifying round being held Pierre de Coubertin Stadium in Paris. The tournament is schedule to finish on 2 November 2008.

Day two today will see eight Malaysian players, singles and doubles, going into court to play for a place in Round Two. Malaysia’s Lee Chong Wei is the defending champion for the men’s singles title and is also seeded number one.
