Alonso the surprise leader at Spa
A light shower of rain interrupted proceedings in Friday’s second practice session for the Belgian Grand Prix this afternoon, and prompted both Ferrari’s Kimi Raikkonen and Force India’s Giancarlo Fisichella to make expensive errors as Fernando Alonso set the pace for Renault with a best lap of 1m 48.454s.

Vermeulen and Capirossi extend Suzuki deals for 2009
Loris Capirossi and Chris Vermeulen for a second consecutive year. Rizla Suzuki´s current lineup of Loris Capirossi and Chris Vermeulen will be riding alongside each other once more in 2009, with both having agreed terms for a further season with the MotoGP factory outfit.
