The “one of a kind” Malaysia Independence Tennis Festival will feature three major events of which the “center piece” is the Clash of Times challenge match with the king of tennis and fourteen-time Grand Slam title winner Pete Sampras making a return to the courts facing the contemporary emperor of the sport Roger Federer in a match billed as “the greatest match-up in history”.
The prelude to the Clash of Times will bring the world’s best clay-court player and three-time French Open champion Rafael Nadal face-to-face with French star Richard Gasquet – described by experts as the world’s most naturally talented player. In addition to these two terrific matches, an ATP Challenger Series tournament – the Malaysia Open – will also take place during the week of November 17-25, 2007.
